Default Wondering if this is right *pls advise*

Hey h-t
Not to long ago i hydrolocked my lx motor. I decided to go with a
jdm b16a sirII..yes,yes..i know how come i didn't get a gsr or b18c?....Anyways, well i notice that my car hits v-tec at 6000rpm on the dot it doesn't let go till 8500-8600rpm. Me and my friend were talking last night and wondering what was up with this, 'cause usually v-tec hits sooner and lets go sooner on other cars. I have nothing done to it and the ecu is a jdm p30, that came with the motor when i purchased it.

So what do you guys think? Is motor modded with after market cams?Is my ecu chipped? Am i losing power? What do you guys think?

I kept wondering when i went to the track i ran a 15.2, i could've ran 14's. Remember i have a heavy 4dr lx. That freaked me out. I took out a accord with a h22 without any problem, and a modded gsr with a milli sec behind cause i let go of the gas.

Please advise what y'all think this might be? My friend is thinking i may a ctr cam or an after market mild cam, or a chipped ecu.The motor is a jdm motor that i bought from hmotorsonline.com

He says that motor is running healthy and i shouldn't mess around with the tuning or cam swap for awhile. He's afraid if i mess around with anything, i'll won't be too far from where i am now, and it won't be worth the money spent.

So i decided i'm going to just get an intake(which one i have no idea as of yet? do you guys have a prefence) and a jdm itr header .

Did i get lucky? I hope so and it feels good.

Thanks h-t

sounds all good to me. b16's hit 14s, in hatches tho. vtec x-over is 5500 rpm on the b16, rev limit is at 8500. your tach could be off as much as 500rpm at times (mine always shows +500rpm, even at idle).

the next steps i would take: header (any wiith a 2.5" collector), mild/hot cams, tuning

I put a 2000 si cluster in my car. As of right now i'm going for the jdm itr header, as far as cams go i'm still decisive if i want to do it.

Your tach is off. With those times it seems you have a stock motor.
