Default V-tec controller?

I have a 94 civic ex with i/h/e highflow cat, would a vtec controller benefit me because my friend is trying to sell me one? or should i think about investing in something else instead (besides turbo or swap)

what kind of v-tec controller is it? It probably isn't worth it unless you have the means of correcting the fuel map. What are you going to do move the V-tec back some so it kicks in earlier? if this is what you want i would just buy a spoon or mugen ship or a VAFC or hondata!! Just my opinion

i wouldnt bother buying the v-tech controller, i read in a honda civic motor swap book that the controller activates the v-tech but no additional fuel is added , i go with the other guys ''chip it'' save money

The only things there that might actually make a difference besides making your engine flashier are chip and intake manifold. And even the chip is a waste because its not optimized for your setup and for all you know you'll end up having rich/lean peaks all over your powerband.
