looks like its been rebuilt, because of the scuffing on the compressor inlet. and ive never seen a garrett turbo with a turbonetics exhaust housing, atlhough it is possible (not from a dealer) so my vote goes for rebuilt
looks very new, doesn't even look like it's seen a heat cycle yet. The white and black marks are normal.. I don't know why they have theis, but it's normal.
I was scared when i saw the weird nut on the back of the turbine, but it's also normal! It might have to do with the balancing, but whatever it's normal

WANTBOOST is quite attentive to detail. i wouldda said it looked new, but i think he's got 2 very compelling arguements as reasoning for being rebuilt. its definately possible someone bought a different exh. housing, but i dont hear to many ppl swapping these around much.
the marking on the fin is for when the turbo is balanced. as it's spinning a light gun measures the balance based off of the reading it gets from that mark....

Looks new to me... look how clean that turbine housing is! It looks to me like it hasn't seen a heat cycle either...
It is kinda wierd that there appears to be some scoring on the compressor inlet... and the whole thing about a Garrett compressor with a Turbonetics turbine...
I'd still have to go with new if I had to choose...

that turbo is new. The compressor cover might not be but that is a common reused part. The actual insides are new. The compressor cover may have been glassbeaded to give it that new look.
Anyways, the turbo looks damn good. What did you pay for it and from what company?
