Volk TE37 lug nut question
I use my OEM lug nuts to bolt up my 16x7" te37's. Am I supposed to be using a special type of lug nut with these rims (e.g., conical, etc.)? If I need special lugs, which are the best options?

i believe that you can use oem but not sure. but if you want a good aftermarket lugnut, rays makes some(has to work with their wheels) and dave from r&d has some for sale at a good price. they also are equipped with a 7 sided nut as sort of the "lock" for the wheels, and they come in different colors
Mmmmm.... I wonder if Wes can hold off cashing my Expo registration check. I'll going to try and remember to call Mackin, Indus. asap today to see if I need the special lugs.
Take off a lug and check the contact surface (the "seat") on the wheel, where the lug nut fits. If it's ball-shaped, the OEM lug nuts are perfect. If it's conical, get conical lug nuts.
There are lots of different lug nuts on the market. McGard has some really nice, lightweight ones.
You also might check with Volk (or the place you bought them) and see what they recommend.

Whoa Whoa guys,
I just got my set of 15 Te-37's 2 weeks ago and they came with all the tapered lug nuts and the ugly blue valve stems. EVERYTHING was included in the shipping boxes.
As quoted from my RAY's service manual: "There are several types of nut shapes including taper, spherical and flat. A 60 degree taper is used for this wheel. Nut/Bolt(S) of incorrect shape MUST NEVER BE USED as they may result in insufficient tightening and may fall off during driving!"
So go get the right bolts cause it would certainly suck to have one of those wheels fall off during a cruise or at a good pace on thw highway.
Good luck,
A.
PS I got mine from R&D, where did you get yours without the nuts?

Thanks for the info 1GreyTeg. I intended to call Mackin today, but they're closed for the holiday. I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. But it sounds like I do need the conical nuts. I'm not real familiar with the Rays lugs. Jason, do yours have a locking mechanism of some sort?
