b20 sleeves on b20-v NA motor
I know the b20 sleeves are known for not being the best but i was thinking about buying this built b20-vtec motor from one of my friends. Bottom end is built with eagle rods, and je pistons. with the gsr head on it the compression is around 12:1. The head also has p/p work done with it and some high lobe cams. My main concern though is the sleeves and if they are at a high risk of cracking? Or if i stay below 7k rpms will it be all good? If anyone has any suggestions it will be greatly appreciated.
b20 sleeves are fine for all motor... now when you boost it thats when it becomes an issue.. i love how people love to hate on those sleeves.. when there's so many people running stock sleeves NA
yea i hear a lot about those sleeves and how they are known to crack. But what would you suggest to keep the rev limit at? less then 7k? If i get it i was thinking about just getting like a msd box w/ rev limiter and set it at it so i won't have to worry about overreving it.
those sleeves are good for NA.. there pretty good on revs.. you can go past 7k.. my friend takes his to 7600 with ctr cams cuz thats when it drops off.. if he had the extra cp then he would take to 8.. some times he takes it to 8 np.. so it also mattters on your setup.. what is it??
