What head gasket to use? LS VTEC 81.5mm
Putting together my LS VTEC and need to know two things 1. Which head gasket I am supposed to use. I have read that I have to use a LS gasket but want to confirm. 2. Who makes a gasket that is 81.5mm in diameter, I had only a slight over bore done when we built the bottom end.
Also if anyone wishes to clarify: Why can't I use a vtec head gasket and why do those dowels on the vtec head have to be moved from the exhuast side?

i have a 81.5mm ls/vtec and i always use OEM head gaskets.....but if ur using the GE dowl pins you need to open the hole alittle (5 secs with a dremel). make sure you get a ls head gasket

thanks. acutally i found a cometic head gasket. a little bit thicker than i wanted (.023 oem vs .030 cometic) but it was in stock and cheap $70 + shipping + tax and it is made for 81.5. good info for future for those who read this. cometic will make any thickness and bore you want.
average time to make one is 5 business days. but they already have alot in stock.
now i just have to move those dowel pins and get my friend to put the head on and hopefully i will be able to post pics soon (2 weeks tops)
