Default Really Weird Problem, PLEASE HELP

i was coming home from my gf's house on the freeway. doing about 65-70. changed lanes to exit and i heard a really weird noise like i ran over something. nothing seemed wrong so i kept driving. got about half way home 1-2 miles from previous sound and i heard a popping sound, really weird though, it wasnt consistant, sometimes it sounded slightly grinding, the sound went with the engine speed, i also have a water pump going out so i thought maybe it was that, i got it home immediatly opened the hood and the spark plug wire on number three was popping up and down and just got worse with the more throttle it was fed. it seems to be sticking up a bit higher than the other wires and its not the wire because i tried putting one of the other ones on just to see if it would go down all the way and they dont, i dont think the engine is knocking because all i hear is the wire making a popping sound and nothing else, the idle isnt too bad but it does fluctuate a bit 500-900rpms. its a 91 LX coupe with a F22A1, ive done some searching but cant seem to find anything on this. any help is usefull, just hope my head isnt toast or anything.

Did you try taking out that sparkplug & looking at it? Sounds like it's not threaded in all the way.

thanks for your help everyone. it turned out to be a defective spark plug, oem spark plug at that. the ceramic part that holds the electrode broke away from the threaded part of the plug and was popping up and down, weird, never seen anything like it before. put some new NGK Vpower in my car today and it runs great, i like the ngk plugs alot my car seems to warm up faster and new plugs are always nice

actually... makes sense... the plug wasnt totally enclosed so you were getting blow back. never seen it happen but if you leave a plug in service too long could happen
