my b16a2
i have a b16a2 in my eg....it is fast by not fast enough..i was told that i can put a gsr block and leave the b16 head and tranny on and it will be fast...all most like the type r...with cams...i was thinking going a b20 block in it but heard it won't last ...if i put a gsr block on it is it goiing to not last like the b20?? thanks
i believe the gsr block is a good choice. But their $$$. From what i hear, The b20 will last if you build it right, and not rev too high. If you can get your hands on a gsr block used that. IMO

I agree, ive seen b16's turbo on stock internals in low 13's with proper suspension and tires. Of course tuning was immaculate..
I personally am a fan of b16's, people kinda hate and there is better choices that could be made but I love mine, and have loved the one in my ef hatch too. I just put on in my eg and im juiced about that right now..
Turbo b16 with tuning and you will be happy, if your gonna spend money you mine as well build a gsr and go all out, or just leave the b16 and boost it. Its reliable if you can drive and get a good tuner..Thats just my 2cents..nothing wrong with b16s in my book for a daily driver anyways..

i would say get the gsr block, this would be called a poor mans type r. my friend had this in his coupe and ran 13.4 consistantly. he had ctr cams, i/h/e 6 puck and lightened flywheel
