instrument lights went out...checked fuses already, any help?
kay, so i was driving home from school and when i started my car, the whole dash lights , climate control, and interior lights wont power up. when i got the car they had some really lame indiglos that ive been meaning to take out too so thats another problem. the gauges light up, and glitch, and sometimes shut down on me, making it hard to drive at night. so right now im driving without any lights on the inside...oh cept for when i press the a/c, defroster, or circulation button, those light up...but everything else is pitch black. so i dont know what wrong with it, but i think those stupid indiglo gauges might have something to do with it...any ideas or suggestions?
kay, so i searched already and i didnt come up with much. i checked the fuses, and i replaced the 7.5amp fuse with a brand new one and nothing happened. i checked the dimmer switch and i get nothing...ill try to examine the wiring when there more light, because its dark right now.

Check the wiring, if the fuse is good its most likely your dimmer thats the problem, or improper wiring of the indiglo gauges by whoever did them b4

I had the same problem in my EG, I just hit the dimmer and it worked fine again for awhile.

Your problem is the dimmer switch itself. If it switches on and off when you tap it, then it's definitely the switch. Pull it out of the dash, then you'll see the 3 wires (blk,red,red/blk) that plug into the back of it. Wiggle each one around to find the one that's loose then pull the plug out and bend it into place to ensure proper connectivity.

Replace everything! All the wires are shot! J/K.. I hate wiring diagnostics. Hopefully it is not that.
well i checked the dimmer switch wires and it all seems nice and tight. so thus far, ive checked the fuse, and nothing, checked the dimmer wires and nothing, and i took out the indiglos and nothing...im happy that the indiglos are out, cause i cant stand those things and to be honest they glitch and shut out anyways, so for the moment im driving at night with no lighting source. i might have to take it somewhere to check the rest of the wiring....i just hope its not fried.
