Y cant you used B18c or B16a headgasket on ls/vtec?

Y cant you used B18c or B16a headgasket on ls/vtec?
I am trying to get a picture in my head of y you cannot use the Dohc vtec head gasket when you do ls/vtec. Only thing I think that could be a problem is where the head is plugged. Is the plugged whole for feeding oil or returning oil to the block. Please help I would to use the Dohc vtec head gasket. Thanks
