oil on spark plugs....
Just took my spark plugs to check them out. There's slight oil above the gasket where the plug meets the head. Is there a gasket I need to replace to prevent oil on the plugs? It's on all 4 of the plugs btw.
If you pull the valvecover off there are 4 little o rings that prevent oil from getting to where the spark plugs are. I believe i have 4 extra brand new ones at my house. Anyway, go to the dealer and tell them what u want.
Part number: 12342-PG6-000 almost 2 bucks each.

Thats it. Numero 4.
may as well if u want. ^_^ Usally you can just honda-bond the cam humps. No need to replace the gasket unless A. you feel like it B. its torn or ripped and is leaking oil all over the place.

They sold you an oil pan gasket? For your 97 Lude? Return it and throw it at them with a passion. 5th gen ludes dont use rubber gaskets for the oil pan. You either use Honda Bond (Pretty Expensive but the best stuff) or an equal quality liquid gasket sealer. If the *** sprinkels at the dealer dont know what Honda Bond is, they shouldnt even be working there. If your not in a hurry, I suggest you buy it from Slhondaparts.com, its $12 for a small tube. The dealer will charge you alot more.
Honda Bond Part No. : 08718-0001
Dealerships are so dumb...

I have done my oil pan twice, and rear main seal cover twice. Adding a decent amount on all four applications and i still have enough for one more oil pan change. There is a small half-moon gasket that goes on the flywheel side of the oil pan, you should change that also since your gonna have the pan off. I think thats what the dealeship might have thought you were talking about.
