Default USTCC Announced as Support Series for Champ Car at San Jose Grand Prix

With only 4-5 cars running in USTCC at the past couple of races (see http://www.ustcc.com/RESULTS.html), I'm sure they'll be in need of additional entries from Honda Challenge and IT to make a show of it.

The end of last season had a much nicer turn out, between 9-11. Already there are alot more teams. There should a at least a 10 car show at Calo speedway, since their are 15 confirmed teams that are "commiting" to the season.

Normally, I just work on the WRX team for my brother, but you can bet I am seriously going to be thinking about buying a B18C for my Integra, even if it is just this one race!

I would encourage H1 racers to apply. Like any pro series there are tech hoops to junp through, but we as racers have been making positive steps to make USTCC a fair place for all. I guess we will see.

Hankook was just announced as the series tire sponsor/supplier, too:

The idea of a cheaper alternative to SPEED World Challenge is appealing, but I never thought that they got the formula right or had the rules stability necessary to pull it off. Trying to mix turbo and naturally aspirated, as well as 4 and 6 cyllinder engines, created too much disparity for a starter series.

It's good to see that they have a marquis event now. To really be called a pro series, you do need some events with spectators, and USTCC has lacked that in the past.
