Progress
So on my 8 month journey to re-build a few things on my race car it is about done.
It started with the decision of finally taking the plunge for a lsd and final drive. Quaiffe had the sohc lsd's on back order and that is when t all started to go down hill.
Between waiting 6 months for a lsd I get this novel idea that we should re-build the engine. Needless to say this has been a long process. 8 months later 3:30 am We cranked the engine over. The engine sounds great, tranny shifts perfect, couldn't ask for more. I am breaking it in right now and will have it tuned next week. I will post #'s with my build specs as soon as it goes to the dyno. I can't wait to race next weekend. It has been a long awaited weekend.
During the journey I also discovered what the noise comes from on the SRR final drives. The counter shaft is machined much differently then stock. I will post pictures tomorrow showing the differences. They machined strait though one of the bearing flanges to get to the bottom of the counter shaft. The bearing makes much more noise on this area compared to stock. Pictures will describe much better than my words.
