Default Headers : DTR Fab VS AN-R

Which header would be better for a B18c-R JDM version

Which do you prefer DTR Fab or AN-R and which header would you buy for your B Series engine

DTR has been proven w/ dyno sheet all over the board.

On the other hand... try searching for before/after dyno's for an ANR header... it doesn't exist.

I guess people w/ ANR either don't have the $$ to run 2 baseline runs.. or aren't pleased w/ the results so they don't post.

Also ANR didn't participate in any of the Header Test either... I wonder why.

Whats the obvious choice to go with?

the an-r headers can crack ... BUT a few racecars are using the headers and they do work ... RLZ and few others for example.

i thought that anr fixed the problem with the cracking. only a few people had issues. it was from thin walled tubing so they are using thicker stuff now.

dtr and anr also offer a couple different headers

which ones are you comparing?

Ive never had a AN-R head come close to cracking on me. Ive ran open header and with exhaust and NO FLEX Pipe. and i bought all mine while this cracking dilema was around. and still strong for me.

I've met a higher percentage of people pleased with DTR headers as opposed to people pleased with AN-R headers. I've never personally owned either, but I've seen both on the dyno, and I'm more pleased with the DTR's.

AN-R has been selling headers for only 2 years. How long has DTR been selling headers.I know Steve makes 1 header a day for AN-R.So even if 10 people complained about cracking.Thats not to bad.And asking people on HT, which
header is best.Is not the best R&D I have seen.Unless your trying to find out
which header company has the most customers on line.At that time.

Maybe if we actually saw results from an ANR we wouldn't doubt it as much.

Why didn't ANR participate in the header test?

just out of curiosity Randy who makes what? I think you are the best person to answer this question

its one of the questions i've had for a long time maybe shining a light behind the actual fabricator will help clear things up

ANR
RAGE
ELITE
BISIMOTO
ERICKS

Well about 2 1/2 years ago.I had a shop called Elite Motor Sports. And I built and designed all of those except Rage. Then I got an offer that I couldn't refuse(in a good way)And I moved to PHX.Steve Brown, the guy that used to work for me at Elite. Kept on making the same headers for those guys. Then Steve and Jason from Rage got together and he's making them at Rage now.In the mean time I have been in PHX coming up with new designs for headers and building an Allmotor race car at Import Power House.
Also I wasn't putting you down in any way.I was saying that you have been around longer and probably have more friends or customers to back you up.When someone asks.Who's header is the best. And 20 guys flip a coin and say his or his.Just not that scientific. That's all.

no offense taken at all ... i was just curious.. so all the new RMF stuff is solely yours.. So does that mean steve is still building them for AN-R, Bisi, Erick?

Man somebody brought this topic back from the dead, DAYAM!

DTR get my vote all the way. Friend of mine has a 2.0l GSR, fully built, bought an AN-R header and baselined at 180hp, after retuning only ended up making 205 which is what he made before with a JDM DC 4-1. He has a DTR now, just no numbers yet but he has a lot of seat time in cars and a lot of personal experiance with different products and he says the the new DTR B-Unit header is awesome, even untuned.

not fair to compare our mild steel header to a dtr stainless header that cost twice as much. our stainless headers have never cracked!
maybe you should have bought a stainless header in the first place instead of buying 2 mild steel ones.

stay tuned for results from the SRZ header test.
