Default Does SIZE Matter on slicks??????????????

Im currently lookin to by some slicks but Im getting mixed reviews on what I should use with my current setup! I dynoed @ 235hp and 193 tq...on the bottle 100 shot....I used to run MT 22x8x15 and was getting pretty decent 60' times such as 1.8's and 1.9's, I wanna drop it down by going with 13" slicks but dont know if I should go with 22x8x13 or 24x8x13. Some people say with NOS i should go with the bigger slicks and other says that 24's are too big for my setup and It will actually hurt my performance. Any info would be great! Race Season is only WEEKS away Fellaz!

the 22" will be easier to adjust to. Meaning that you can either use it for all motor or drop the pressure to handle the power with nitrous.

If you go 24", its too big if you ever decide to use it without the bottle. And with the bottle, it will help, but its not necesarry, the 22" will most likely do the job.

Tire pressure depends on the track. But you'll probably be in the 9-11psi range.

that's what I would suggest too...

are you making 235 off or on the bottle? If you're making 235 off the bottle and with a tight geared tranny like a b16 or ITR, you should be fine with 24's too.

I see you're from SD...you know a Richard Soung(who was stationed there) and his lady, Monique Moua?

I'd go with the 22s. A friend of mine pulled high 1.6 sec. 60 ft. times with 22x8x13s. No wheelie bar, no traction bar, eg, itr motor with 80 shot.

I ran 24.5x10 on a bolt ons b18c in my del sol, had 80 shot as well, but never got a complete pass in on the juice. On motor and revving to 9k RPM, i could almost stay in 3rd accross the traps it seemed like. WAY too big. As stated above 23's is probably your best bet. Although i did run a 13.7 at 101 with a 1.98 60ft on those monster slicks on motor only. 2300lbs w/ driver

Another key aspect is, you want to be crossing the traps almost maxxing out 4th gear with still staying in your power band. In which slick sizing can determine that as well. I remember i ran 20" or some stupid small as **** slicks on my EK, i was shifting into 5th on juice before the traps.

They were free and i decided to try em out so why not? lol WAY TOO SMALL!!

I am making very similar numbers and I went to the track with my new 23 inch MH slicks a little over a week ago and was very pleased with the results. My very last run (6 passes total) I pulled a 1.787 60 foot and went 12.6 @ 107 mph. The previous 2 runs were low 1.8 60ft's and every pass my 60ft's got better. My tire pressure was at 10psi and I was launching off the rev limiter at 7300 rpms. I also have a Quiafe LSD.
