yes, you can! still you have to reset the ecu for the stock for custom program to work properly.

yes and no. depends on the ecu type, and the type of program.

also switch will require the ecu to be unplugged and all the memory obtained from previous maps removed. not always but most times. much better way is to store the 2 programs on 512 k ROM and switch between pages .

If it's obd1, you certainly can. Look at this picture:

http://home.mn.rr.com/keebler6...d.jpg

Locate the number "27256" in the outlined [missing] chip space, go directly up - you'll see the two holes for "R54", above that is the "J1" jumper connection. When J1 has a wire connecting the two leads, it reads the program on the chip you added. When it's open (not jumpered) it bypasses the two chips you put in and acts 100% stock [at least after you reset it]. Just unsolder the wire that's normally put in there (assuming it's already set for chipping) and put a switch there. Wax on, wax off.

BTW why the hell would you want to do this? I thought about doing it, but there is no benifit outside of maybe pussifying your rev limits & etc for when a friend drives it. It's $45 for a cheap rom burner, so I'd suggest looking into uberdata instead. If its an ebay chip, get a $7 Zif socket, if not just a $1 press-n-hold socket.

the only reason i would like to do this is because i overreved my engine a few times and id like to be able to have a stock rev limit when i want to.. and my car runs rich with the chip so id like to have better gas mileage... and yes ill be getting uberdata soon to tune my cams...

its a Dinan chipped P75.... 8500 revlimit is too high for my LS....... theyres a noticeable difference in the top end power when i dont run the chip ... it came with my swap from hmotorsonline.com
