the diff will hold for a while, get a quaife if you want it to last. Trans should be OK. a Phantom grip cradle would be a good investment if your going to have the trans apart for syncros.

You might also look into getting a difforant clutch...
Here is s pic of what happened to my ACT clutch on its first attempt down the track with just over 530whp... Dont get me wrong, ACT clutches are good products, but as you can see, i dont think they do good with high hp...
As 86si said, you will want to look into another diff. later and the tranny cradle is a good investment, but you loose 5th gear, so if its a street car, you might not want to go that route...

Your pics are interesting. We use an ACT clutch, and we went the entire season without replacing anything at all. The final pass of the season on the very clutch we're starting this season with went 8.43@155mph. Our car weighs 2440 lbs, also.

Im glad you had success with the ACT clutch... Dont get me wrong, as i said before, they make great products... I still use ACT clutches in my other cars... I personly dont trust them over 500whp, but thats just me and because of my previous experience...
I cant tell you why my clutch did what it did, but the only use on the clutch was 8 dyno pulls, then a burn out and launch and when i started engauging the clutch to go to 2nd gear, BANG!... (shrugs) maybe i had a defective clutch, i dont noe... I hope your luck continues with the ACT clutch...

What's everyone's opinion on cable vs hydraulic B-series transaxles? What is the difference other than the method of actuation of the clutch?

early cable trannies had a smaller main shaft which makes them weaker. other than that they are basically the same.

Smaller main had nothing to do with it. The cable trans has a 25.4 mm input and the hydro has a 26mm. Cables are said to engage faster but the cases are becoming hard to find. You can put hydro gears in a YS1 case but good finding one.

Clutch = Weak Link.

You shouldnt break much on 24s tho...go for it.

honestly 150whp, 500whp, its how you drive moreso. My freind with his b16 CRX and ys1 LSD trans/ACT streeet strip clutch learned the hard way. Heated up nitto 555rs, revved her to 7200, straight dumped it, and pop goes the weasle. he snapped axle housing part of the LSD (where the axle's splines insert into the LSD, dont know the real name/wording) Car was a turd, 15.6 or some ****, prolly 145whp.
Im currently installing an ITR LSD into my gezzer trans (patting myself on the back ) and have questioned as well, how much HP is this sucker good to. A quiafe and or CoughcoughOBXcoughcough could be in the near future. I have a Kaaz for the Rx7. If your going to make serious power and want strength, you have to pay to play.

When i launch, i dont straight dump tho, i let it out ever soo lightly that i can feel everything in the driveline tighten up without the car actually moving (hard to master) Then let it out kinda quickly. This way everything does'nt get a sudden jolt like you would straight dumping it. Thats my technique, not sure if it holds any truth/practice to it, but ya.

I don't think the 4 puck will hold more power. I started off with an ACT xxtreme kit and the 4puck in my crx. After 20 dyno pulls and 5 full passes at the track it started slipping at only 509whp and 351tq on 25" slicks. I switched to a twin disc and never looked back.
