Default Price tag of K&N E-2427

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but the best place that I could figure. So you guys can move it if needed...Anyways...I am planning on doing the DIY IceBox as soon as my car gets out of the shop. I just bought a 00 ITR OEM AirBox to use for the "IceBox" and I know that I will need the K&N E-2427 replacement filter for the airbox. So I go to Advance Auto today and ask them to price it for me and it came up as being $72.xx! That is way more than I would really like to pay for a filter. So I am wondering if any of you guys here on H-T know where I can get the filter for cheaper than $72.xx? Can any of you guys get this filter for somewhat less? I looked at most of the articles about the DIY IceBox and most people said that the E-2427 was around $30...I def cant find it anywhere for $30. So if you guys could help me save some money here, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You won't find that filter for much less than 65 (jobber price) - definetaly no where near 30. (that's over 50% under cost)... but yea, if you're doing an 'airbox' w/the itr box, that's the filter. (Why are you making a box? put a real intake on it, or just a filter on a stick for ~$50 total)

Well as of right now, I have a short ram, but I have been looking at the real IceBox and then ran across the DIY IceBox which would come out much cheaper and there seems to be some power gains with the real and DIY IceBox. Just something I would like to play with I guess. I am just wanting to know if anyone can get that filter for cheaper than $72.xx. Thanks bro!

Here is the ghetto intake i did on my itr. Stock air box with kn E-2427 and the "intake pipe". My hand can go all the way up to the filter.
Never had a problem with rain and its like this for over 1 year.

As u can see in the last picture i had to swap the coolant liquid reservoir with one from a crx or else the pipe wouldnt fit.

Ouch...you got ripped! Well I guess nobody knows where I can get one cheaper, or its just that I wont be able to get it cheaper. When I get ready to do the IceBox, I might post a WTB ad in the classifieds. Thanks for the pics!

What other filters out there perform as well as the K&N? I have the factory filter that come in the 00 ITR airbox but I really dont want to use that cheap *** filter. Any suggestions?
