how can you tell the difference by just looking at it?? (92-95) & (96-99) transmissions.

 

between ex and dx or eg and ek?

 

how would i know that im being sold an ex tranny?? and not a dx.

 

On 92-92 there is a stamping near the filler neck in a circle.

P20A000 is a dx, lx, etc. tranny
p20b000 is an Ex, Si Tranny

On EGs at least, don't know if that applies to Eks

look up threads that ricey mcricerton had started it might be some help but i believe from what he told me the 92-00 tranny's are all the same the only difference is the ex has slightly shorter gear and the dx is better for gas milage
