Default k&n or Cold air?

Got an 05 civic Si... wanna know if i should just get a k&n drop in or a cold air?...

It all depends on your plans for the car, what you want out of it, and if your willing to do deal with the risk of hydrolock. CAI will get you much more power then a simple drop in filter and if you upgrade to headers and exhaust the system will compliment itself very nicely. Depending on where you live though rain may make you consider if it is worth it. I chose CAI.

^^^what he said, depends what you want to do, how much gain you want, etc.

there is always the option of a short ram intake also, no worries with hydrolock but not as much gain. good luck

Where does the cold air sit? The cold air doesn't come with a bybass valve?

no, it doesn't come w/ a bypass valve. it sits low in the front

inside the front bumper? will it go as low as to where the fog lights are??

if you drive through a deep puddle, damn good chance. if you don't, small chance. but there is always a chance, and if you do get water in there, it good mean a new motor. might not be worth and extra 2-4 hp. you could get a sri w/ a nice heat sheild and a hondata intake manifold gasket. that'll run you the same money as cold air w/ very similar gains. plus better throttle response.
