Anyone ever run a distributor cap with 2 of the 3 screws?

I broke 2 of the screws off when trying to remove the cap yesterday. Pops took the dizzy in to his job and was able to get one of the broke screws out and the other just is not going to be useful. I haven't seen it yet, but he said I'll need a new casing. Anyhow, is it safe to run the cap with just 2 screws instead of 3?
....guess it's time to put that 5k in my room that is collecting dust to good use for a swap

1 of my dizzy bolts (adjustment bolts to the head) is missing, no probs yet. In your case, don't risk it. Based on my brother's experience with his Corola winter beater's dizzy, make sure it's seccured. To sum up his story - changed head gasket, test started it w/o tightening dizzy bolts, cracked dizzy, got used one that didn't work, fixed with new dizzy. Don't mess with rotating parts - ever. You won't want to drive your car with 10 of the 16 (2/3) the lugs on all four tires missing, nor should you do so with the distributor. At the very least you'll be replacing the cap soon due to it grinding and arcing the points heavily.
