i found an old music cd i made a few years back, compusa brand cdr. -and that worked. so i assume burnt cds work w/ the cd player.

i never had any problems with memorex or imation. are you overburning the cd? (some software allow burning an extra few seconds or so...) what software are you using the burn the cd? (used to make a difference... may or may not nowadays.)

turn overburn off (if on)... burn disc-at-once... maybe try using different software.

they do play cdr cdrw, all brands

it just that the stock cd unit will stop playing copied/burned cd after couple year of use, very usual problem with the single disc 98-02 stock double din deck.

perfect times for upgrade huh?

i'm using nero6, and i have tried different methods, no avail. tonight i did notice however, it played cd-rs that had blue die, compusa and tdk media. everything else had greed dye. looks like tomorrow i'm gonna be lookin for some blue dye media, might just be it.

Make your CDR with a single-session, disk-at-once settings in your burning software. The stock cd player can't deal with multi-session or other strange stuff. I don't know Nero, but those settings should be buried in the menus somewhere.
