Default Timing Belt Play

I just put back my stock cams and I noticed that the timing belt has alot of play on it.

I have the timing belt cover off and i can see it wobbling at idle.

Is this normal?

If you put it on correctly it should be fairly hard to get it on.

Definately not normal. Sometimes with the manual tensioner I have to manually tighten the belt by pulling on the tensioner (if that's what you have). If you have an auto tensioner, you need to switch over.

JDM H22 guys.

The belt was a bitch to put on (also kept losing them damn keys for the cams )

After I put the belt over the cams i retighten the autotensioner.

Should i have done anything before i locked it down?

The same thing is happening to my h22a1, except i'm using an auto tensioner (brand new only been put on once). I left the top t-cover off to watch the belt and it's shaking bad. I don't know whats wrong, ive pulled it off and and dissassebled the entire front of the engine and put it back together and it still does the same thing. I've replaced everything so I know everything is in perfect condition. I also have noticed that the belt creeps off the cam gears maybe a 1/16 of an inch. Does anyone know what is going on?

I do not mean to bother you but i have the same problem with mine, about the timing belt being loose on the front side of the engine. If you have found the problem would you let me know.
