Running Rich
I think I'm running rich, i've been getting really bad gas milage, like 20 miles to the gallon. and the last time i dynoed, i got 155 to the wheel with I/E. i think the cat is bad too.
my question is...how do i stop my car from running rich? other than using a v-afc.

yeah but when i just got the car, i got like 26 miles per gallon, that was when the car had 8,000 miles on it. now it has 10,000 and i have been getting 20 miles per gallon for a while. i dont drive any harder or different and i still use 91 octane. hte cel isn't on.
what are other symptoms(sp) of running rich?

maybe you need a valve adjustment.
if you are running rich, your car will have black smoke coming out of your
tailpipe, and your bumper will turn black within a few hours

how much is it to do a valve adjustment at a acura dealership? is it hard?

i am running way rich too....i have the skunk 2 harness and obd1 ecu and test pipe...there is alot of unburnt fuel that i can smell and see when at WOT....i get really bad miles also...im thinking its a bad o2 sensor or something...anyone have similar mods with the same problem?

Well... I ran into a similar problem... bear in mind that the stock ECU program is pretty darn rich to begin with... and as said, too rich and you'll throw a code in a heartbeat.
Still, I adjusted valves... checked fuel pressure and injector function... spark gap and plug color (not too rich - plugs were clean). I'm sure that as cats get older they flow less - maybe I'll replace mine, too... damn rich stock ECU.
Puzzled, I mentioned this to my friend - he said: "No wonder your f***ing gas mileage is going down, you spend all your time above 6000 rpm on the high cam! The longer you've owned this car, the more comfortable you've gotten with it, the more likely you are to put your foot into it, dumbass!"
Chastened, I tried driving more conservatively and LOW AND BEHOLD my mileage went back to 28 mpg in town and over 30 on the highway.
To quote "Yack" - "F gas milage."
Since then, I keep my foot in it and live with 20-ish mpg.
YMMV
