Default Turn signal on altezza

I recently installed a set of altezzas on my 96 accord and now run into the problem of having clear lights on the turn signals that should be orange. I went to discount auto parts and they only had the clear bulbs. My idea now is to take an orange sharpie and paint the bulbs. Anyone else have an idea? Also, does anyone know where I could possibly get some orange bulbs?

you should be able to find the bulbs somewhere...a sharpie wont work...some high temp orange paint might work but its not going to be the same color as a normal light (i have tried) and it looks ugly...

You could put you stock signals on and ditch the altezzas...

Otherwise try ebay and get some LEDs. CLear but flash amber.

I called autozone and they told me they don't have the bulb in orange or red, but have bulb covers in their "performance section" (hehe) that are basically a gel cover that slips over the light. They are $4 each, though, so that's the only bad part. I may end up going that route if I can't find one soon, because I dont feel like getting a $5 fix me ticket so then I still have to pay that on top of the getting the lights. And no, I'm not taking them off, hehe.

I'd get the 'super refractors' bu tit's up to you, those will spread the light out so it fills the signal housing.

You can also buy chrome plated bulbs, try 7440 chrome on ebay...those are pretty good too, I use them on my car where the signal is clear instead of icky amber.

Just curious, does the turn signal have to be amber or can it be red?

Signal can be red. Rear signals by law can be amber or red, and front only amber, to not confuse with emergency vehicles.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the chrome lights. They will definitely be purchased later, but for now I just went ahead and painted the lights with a red sharpie I had around the house and it worked fine. The front bulbs are still white, but hopefully I can stay out of the cops eyes for a little bit. Thanks again for all the help.

THey'll be a LOT brighter...my chrome plated ones look kind of dim since they were plated and they lose some of their visibility since the chrome is translucent. Might be even too bright but who should say that when you want them to know youre turning

Same prob in my Civic, just bought an amber bulb that matched the plug base that has two filiments. Works fine. Cost like $7 for both lights.

Altezzas suck. Altezza lights suck. Using sharpies to color bulbs is ghetto. Put your stock tails back on.

Find the bulbs at another store. I'm sure there's one auto parts store around that has the bulbs you're looking for.
