This is also a little suspect:
"You are Bidding on one (1) Recaro SPG Style CARBON FIBER racing seat in BLACK"
On ebay, anything that's "Recaro Style" isn't a Recaro, but everything else in the ad would suggest that he is at least stating it's the real deal, even if it isn't. Just ask him.

I'd be willing to bet it's a cheap knock-off based on the backside photo showing that the composite resin (probably polyester) had contracted upon curing. Epoxy resin, which I'm certain Recaro uses in a $2000 seat, does not contract much compared cheap polyester or mid-range vinylester resin. Caveat emptor! Ebay is full of these pirated designs.

I think it could go either way. The way it's used it's not necessarily denoting a copy. They could just be saying it's the RPG model.
Anyway, contact them and ask specifically if it's the genuine thing. They don't have a whole lot of feedback, but have successfully sold some things. Looks like a potentially good deal.

I asked the guy selling them and he did not say they were authentic. He said the tags said Recaro, but thats about it. The quality, based on the photograph, looks about like the VIS hoods that I've seen and not the quality of a Recaro product.
