im goin to be hookin up my oil catch can this weekend hopefully, heres a question tho. all of the pages ive been to show you how to hook them up on b16's, or typer's and what not. you can clearly see from the pcv valve to its connection. on a gsr with a gsr intake manifold, where does the line go from teh pcv valve? i can see where thats at, but it looks like the line goes under the IM and dissappears? or better yet, anyone have any pics of this hooked up on thier gsr?
Good luck, I can't really tell from the parts drawings either... It has to go to the manifold, so there must be a hose nipple down there somewhere, on the underside of the IM's plenum. Maybe you can see it from underneath??

Number 7 is the PCV valve...

That's the rubber gromet that the PCV goes into...

I actually changed mine in my GSR yesturday and was wondering the same question..
My friend who's a mecanic told me it probably goes to some vacuuming system... Im not sure though, tell me if you get the answer.
Anyways I might jack up my car and find out myself tonight, Ill tell you if I do!

That picture doesn't show where hose #13 goes, but IT HAS TO GO TO THE MANIFOLD. That's how a PCV system works.

If you see a vacuum bottle wedged under the manifold, that's for the IAB system (secondary intake runners). You'll probably have to get that out of the way before you can see where that hose connects.

JimBlake,
Hum ok... I don't think I'll escalate the issue to that point but thanks for telling.
Actually, I didn't even know about that IAB system (secondary intake runners) .. what does that do?

yeah i know it goes to the manifold, im just not sure where. i tried following the line but it just dissapears from sight fromt he top of the car. next time i get a chance i'll see if i can follow it underneath the car.
got this from BSQ's website, he's got step by step directions on how to set one up and he's got a GSR

Then there's a 2nd set of runners, short, stubby, direct from the plenum to the ports. Those open up above about 5700 rpm. There's a vacuum reservoir under there to work the butterflys in the secondary runners. That makes it tough to see anything under there.
If you're doing a standard catch can setup you need to splice in the catch can into hose #13... one side goes to the PCV valve (#7) and the other side goes to the intake manifold.
Pro-tip: If you use some clear reinforced PCV hose to splice in the hose going to the manifold from the catch can, it should remain relatively clear. Gives a good indication that the catch can is working.
