225/45/17 Help Meee
I just bought a pair of really great and really wide rims and tires for 250.. I was planning to use these mostly for track but then my donuts found some nails they wanted to play with.
Test #1
So anyways I put these on my integra and they work pretty well. (Again, wasnt planning on using these as daily tires) However I decide to have some fun and try to test them a little to get a feel for them when I bring it to the track. So I do the usual launch, I revv it up to 4000 RPMS and let the clutch out a little until I start creeping and the the revvs sit at 3000, I then drop the clutch and floor it thinking that it would spin and launch me. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! The Car hopped like crazy and instinctively I let off the gas and clutched in right away.
Test #2
Thinking that the sandy conditions outside caused this, I then find a nice dry place to run, that had no sand at all. So I launched again the same way and the same thing happened. WTF!!! Im getting pissed now!
Test#3
So im rolling on this backroad where there is little to no sand and is VERY DRY, I decide to do a 8 MPH Roll then floor it. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! THE CAR IS STILL BOUNCING! Its like I cant break out of traction!!
Test#4
I Revv it to 4K RPMS at a dead stop and this thing is still catching traction! It hops about 1-2 times and then it goes, afraid of hurting my clutch more by doing clutch dumps like this I stop and just drive normally back home.
So does anyone have any experience launching with tires this wide? They're bridgestone potenzas wrapped on 17 inch rims (Dont know the weight or brand). Can I launch without hopping? Do I need more HP to break out of traction or should I just revv higher? Please help, ASAP.

I was told that stiffer springs would help glue my vehicle to the ground on a launch if its hopping, what are some good brands that will hold my car to the ground without sacraficing too much smooth ride quality?
