good idea to remove power steering?
Theres one thing that I dont quite like about 5th generation accords is the steering. Personally for my driving style I prefer the steering wheel to be a little bit harder to turn. If I were to remove the power steering would it be noticeably harder to turn the steering wheel? Any performance increase? To me it feels like theres too much oversteering on the car unless if I were to get larger wheels which would increase the sterring efforts. What do you guys think? Worth it?

If you just remove the belt it will be extremely hard to turn. I removed the power steering on my 92 Lude Si and looped some of the line to keep fluid on the gears. This sort of created a manual rack feel... it's ******* perfect
Sorry I can't do a write up/post pictures, out of state right now. If you want a how-to let me know after March 6th

haven driven 1 car w/o power stearing that wasnt designed with it (79 MG) and one that was designed for it (89 rx7), i can say power stearing is def something you want in a heavy car

Power steering only affects lower speeds. My lude is heavier than my Accord and I can man handle the Lude w/o power steering
As soon as the car is moving, you don't even realize you don't have power steering

it's more or less just an adjustment to get used to...i don't have p/s on my h22 accord, but wish i did now...it's not that you won't get used to it, but it becomes a hassles when your car is at a dead stop and you are doing something with your other hand...you will definitely need to hands to turn the wheel from a dead stop...but at any kind of moderate speed, it's not much different...

So if I were to remove the power steering would there be any noticeable performance difference? Just curious. Im still wanting to do it more for my driving style rather than performance....
I took out power stearing in my h22 accord.. I love it.. If I had power steerting when I was racing on some days I would of died... MAtter a fact yesterday I was racing on monteray with a lexus.. It was raning hard. We were both going at least 100 in the rain.. It was crazy.. I SWEAR TO everyone on here.. WHile I was racing I saw my life flash before my eyes then I soon almost lost control. I slowed down and gathered my thoughts.. I almost died.. If I ahd power streering It would of been over...

... Power steering while backing up into a really tight spot is a pain. Other than that there isn't really a problem without it.

Again Im not doing it for performance but its always a plus. I just want more race-like steering on my car....

i dont got power steering . i think it only affects you when you are below 5 mph . it was a bit difficult at first, and then i got used to it . only time i have trouble with it is when i need to get out of a parking spot in a tight space, and with a stick, it makes me even more aware of the cars around me . other than that, everything else is fine . i would compare it to a 20 lb dumbbell . you wont be able to do 15 sets of it easily at first, but once you do it for awhile, it will feel like its just a regular routine and you wont even notice it at all . i dont know if i feel a performance increase any, but the steering is a bit rough under 5 mph, but after you get going, to me the steering feels geat .
