Default Air to fuel ratio...

Looking for some input into AFR. I have a plx m-300 wideband and a vafc that i use for basic tuning, just to get my car to run alittle better on the street. well whats a safe AFR to run around on, is the stoich 14.7 the ideal at all crusing times? Or can i run slightly leaner to get some more mpg? as of right now i have it around 14.7-15.3 at cruising and around 12.8-13.5 at wot. Thanks for any help....

You can run 15.5 fine under light load.. When its real hott and under load is where you need to be worried..

as t-bone stated 15.5 is fine under light load during normal weather conditions, stoich is fine for part throttle, VTEC will like to run a little richer than 14.7, and as the RPM increases so should the ratio of fuel to air. Part of this is to keep combustion chamber temps under control.

14.7 is good for crusing and idle for OBDI ecu equipped cars. Low or higher in closed loop operation will kick in long term fuel enrichment or "leanment"
