Default Coolant leak on DS toward bottom of T-belt cover. Water pump?

yea i have a coolant leak in this spot and im wondering if it is the water pump. i took off the top timing cover to get a look at the pump itself and it looks dry. I am wondering however if there is a weep hole toward the bottom of the pump (like on a SB chevy) that is leaking, as i can only see the top part of the pump. The timing belt wasnt wet of anything either, but when i was running the car, there was a pretty steady consistent drip. could it be anything else? thanks

there is a weep hole...that is probably what is making the leak...Isnt that there incase your water pump stops working or something. I dont know, but I do know there is a weep hole.

the gasket might be blown that is around the water pump... my bet would be that it is the water pump because that weep hole is on the left side of the water pump, which would explain the leak. either way, gasket or water pump gear, it needs replacing

Would a water pump leak cause white smoke to come out of the tail pipe?

no that would mean you're actually burning antifreeze, not leaking it, could be your headgasket.
