my 89 crx hf has a alot of trouble accelerating wen i really get on it. i never had this problem before. I wuz goin down the highway and a big truck didnt see me and started to change into my lane. i went to jus gas it and pass him but wen i stepped on it the car jus kinda bogged out and slowly accelerated. I had to downshift to 3rd and then step on it to pass him. If you could help me figure this problem out cuz it almost killed me.

 

The ECU could have gone into "limp-home mode" in which case pulling the ECU fuse out of the fuse box under the hood (pass. side) for 30 seconds will reset it. But, if it did that, it did so b/c of a problem, which your ECU light will blink to tell you what the problem is. Your 'Check Engine' light should have come on if that was the case, so I kinda doubt that's the problem.
Fuel or spark are the most likely culprits.
I'd guess that new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor will fix it.
And maybe an ignitor but I have never replaced one on a Honda that I can remember so I don't really even know exactly what it does. But it must be important.

 

is it a stock hf? they are slow you no....but try doing a tune up....
