Don't you want the waterpump running ALL THE TIME? Not just when the fan comes on...

I still don't get it. Why don't you want the pump to run full-time, as long as the engine's running? Is this the kind of pump where you remove your belt-driven waterpump? If so, you gotta remember that there should always be flow going thru the block & head. Thermostat shuts off flow ONLY to the radiator.

well this is an externall electric water pump i dio not have a oem water pump in my car i drilled holes around my thermostat so some water still flows through motor but if i keep the pump on costantly my motor will never warm up thats why i put a thermo switch when im normall driving it will kick on at a certain temp but when im inbetween rounds of racing i want to be able to manually turn the pump and fan on to cool down fast

I wouldn't use a thermostat at all.Just use a restictor. Some people take the thermostat and gut it out.Make sure you have the punp on during a run.You will get localised hot areas and start to detonate faster than the relay can react. http://www.moroso.com/catalog/...29018
