How stripped were you like seats,spare tire,etc

if you run mid 15s your first time out be happy. i didnt. Took me a while to learn to drive. what feels fast on the street and what works on the track are different. Just dont do anything stupid like sidestep the cluch from 8g or try to powershift every gear.

 

I knw how to race......

What did you end up running?

 

96 rs all motor
16.04 on street tires @ 20psi in a light rain

 

i ran 15.8 in a 92 gs(heaviest). a stock 94+LS is supposed to run 16.0, but thats a test with a professional driver. you are going to have to make several runs before you get the feel for the track, and i dont know about other tracks, but the one i go to changes drastically with the weather. i mean, the sun being out and then going behind clouds could change track temps enough to make me drop my launch rpms about 1000. i have some garbage bfg tires, though. launching at the track is much different then on the street; on the street its alot more consistent. i have an aem intake and catback exhaust, thats it.

 

high 15s, mid 15s if you are lucky

 

14.98 with AEM cai, cheapy header, catback, pulleys and no seats

honestly why race if you are hoping to hit 15s? is it really worth the 20 bucks to confirm the car is slow?

Dude my last car 87 Si ran a 17 so...
Compared to that my cars quick
Plus I want a mostly stock run
So when I go to the dark side I can compare

haha. i actually agree with this guy. wait until you get a few more mods. are you still running just a cai? if i were to ever go to the track it would be after i had i/h/c/e + tuned at the very least. unless youve maybe lightened the body?

 

I dont go to tracks because im fast
I go to have fun
Its nice to actually race legally w/out worrying about cops
And the rush of bracket racing is awsome
You dont have to be fast to bracket race
