oil is oil. It's your choice to use either synthetic or non-synthetic. I use either Castro or Mobil 1. Honda's oils are by Mobil by the way.

what i use on my vehicles..

accord 94lx gets either mobil1 5w-30/10w-30 or valvoline 5w-30
civic 01 5w-20 mobil1 all year around
prelude 92 si 10w-30 mobile1

basically i stick with mobile1 or valvoline and it never gave me problems so why bother switching? ive used only stp filters and fram if a stp is not available.

It doesn't give you anything but protection from siezing your engine. Don't buy into their hype.

You couldn't be more wrong with that statement. Castrol syntec, unless it's the kind manufactered in Germany (look on the back), isn't even a true synthetic. The only true synthetic you will find at Wal Mart is Mobil 1.

I know the castrol isnt really synthetic, but I had always thought the Valvolone was a true synthetic?? Penzoil synthetic? QUakerstate synthetic? hmmm

Anyone use the NEW mobil one syn "15,000 mile guarantee" I dont think its smart to use oil that long no matter what, but it did raise the price a bit

sohc

No, no and .....no....Do you see any of those oils on the shelves at Wal Mart? Yes. Are any of those oils Mobil 1? No. So they are not true synthetics.

I haven't tried the new Mobil1 oils. I think I pay enough for regular Mobil1, so I'll stick with that.

This is what I use. I love German Castrol! I do however use the s2000 oil filter from the dealer.
