speedo problem with v-tec

Yes. Your check engine light should be on and throwing the VSS code.

The CEL "should' be on. However, I had a code 17 and my CEL wasn't on so who knows.

Yes if your ecu is showing a code 17 then VTEC is not working.
VTEC needs three inputs to work.
Coolant temp
Oil pressure
Speed above (i think) 30mph

thanks for the info..i have a couple more questions..it doesnt show check engine light, i havent checked my ecu.i will check it 2morrow what if its not throwin a code?should i still worry? and some1 told me this problem is only on 0bd-1 cars..mine is obd-0..is this true or is this problem for all b16s? thank u again,i appreciate it
