Default Building Sohc Vtec head for 8k

I got a d16y7 in my 88 si im putting a y8 vtec head on there and i wanna go to 8k rpm just lookin for some suggestions on what i should do to the head before i bring it to 8k

Not sure how stable that thing will be at 8 with stock springs and retainers. might wanna look into upgrading those

Springs/retainers, some better rod bolts for the block.

i would say to be safe take it 7,500 rpm 8 might be to high . i was goign to take it to it 8 but heard not to safe to do

springs, retainers, a fat cam that will make power that high, and some arp rod bolts. spin the bitch and see if the rods hold. i think they will....

i have a fully built z6 and built it to rev to 10k but it gains power till 7600 rpm, plus the rod stroke ratio is not the best for really high revs

I had a stock b2 reving to 7500 every single shift, every single day. Isnt the stock redline on a y8 already something like 7200-7300. Put a mild cam in there and i think 8k would be fine. Id also do upgraded rod bolts though.

use a set of crower i beam or some other light weight rods, knife edge the crank, zex valve springs and apr hardware and you should be fine.
