they were called avatars.. They are gone for good cause of excess bandwidth demand caused by them...
Only the mods have em now.

How does one become a moderator anyway? Is there some election committee, are ads placed in the newspapers and resumes accepted, or does the lady of the lake just hand you excaliber if you are deemed worthy?
