Default not shure what to put in gsr block

i i have a 00 gsr that i took the head off anf put in skunk2 valves type r springs and oem ratiners and just replaced all the seals im currently deciding what i should go with for pistons and rods any sugestions i want to keep the stock bore size i was think itr pistons but i keep seeing ctr pistons on this site wwhat one is better or do u have any sigestions o yeah it will be all tuned by hondata does that make a diff i was also lookin for the most gain with the most reliablity

Well, there has been some debate as to the actual compression of CTR pistons in a GS-R motor, and all of the guys that I trust say that they are in the 12.3 (standard bore) to 12.5 (with .25 OS) range. Personally, I think that is too high for everyday use, unless you have some 93 octane gas, and access to a good tuner. Some guys say they have no problems, but I'm sticking with less then 12:1.

I would recommend JDM ITR pistons as they yield about 11.5:1 in a GS-R, way better for everyday use, and would prolly work on stock rods, if you keep the revs moderate.

id simply go with some ctr pistons...my friend had some in his gsr and it was tight

i just wanna know what process i would go by for seting it up i still dont know what pistons and rods with my setup would work the best im runin itr springs oem ratiners and skunk2 valves no sure what i should get for cams either please help
