Just curious where he went. Haven't seen him in a while. I know there are a lot of people who don't like him, but I was curious.

 

Yeah...long time ago, I remember God had lots of reputation for making his version of the test pipes.....what happen? People flamed him off like Importreview? I don't think it's right, I am sure both of them can contribute more than most people here.

 

Importreview is still here...no one gives him anymore since he went out on his own. God...well...

Chris, if you were referring to the treatment youve gotten, I wouldn't exactly call that flaming. flaming is what happens when someone posts pics of their ITR with 19" Konig Tantrum wheels and 3" suspension drops

Flaming is only one of the bad forms.

There are people who uses their opinions as truth to a certain question...like rice or not on body kits, and rims. Which is really none of their business.

The worst I hate are people who copy and paste other people's suggestion and ideas to use as their own. They shout around like saints propaganting other people's hard work as their sole property.Soon, everyone have the same point of view on a matter like a brain-washed **** or Commis that any new idea or perspective will be flamed and prohabited to exist. And when there are people come up with some old quesiton and immediately someone will reply or lock it and say "do a search". Yeah, there are archives of answers...but ever thought of those archives maybe outdated or someone else have new experiences to share?

People gave up H-T for good reasons, they have the ability to maintain and proof their own points...and those who have to rely on other's experience to answer question must stay....like me

 

You know, what I really hate is when people just steal someone else's ideas and write them up as though they were their own. Especially when they claim that it's original thought on their part.

Dan is a stand up guy. I know him personally and can vouch that he would never try to rip someone off. I never did care for the way some people on this board treated him. He was here since the start and always helped us out in need. If you have an issue with him, deal with him. There really isn't a need for the added information on some people's signatures.... Now if he ripped you off and in return owes you money like another nameless H-T'er that dissapears on us, then by all means, flame away. But I really don't think this is the case.

The thing with Dan is that he's never here to answer any technical questions. I really appreciate sgT's tech insights, but there's not from Dan. I sometimes wonder how he's still a "moderator".

 

He's just a busy dude.

 

why would he want to be here if they team up on him.... but Dan does post a reply here and there. And yes, Dan is a very busy person.

I've met Dan numerous times and have delt with him(as have a lot of my friends). He is a great person to deal with and is an all around cool guy.

 

I agree, Dan is cool, met him once in NYC and took him for a tour...

I buy as much as I could from him...sometimes things are slow, but he's a busy guy and I understand that

 

Dan has always been fair to me, so I have no complaints.

Dan is a class act. I bought almost all my parts from him and never had any problems. I even have a shipment coming in next week. Further more he is very knowledgable about the ITR and will help you without hesitation.

 

I don't understand why some people here on Honda-tech and some over at Club Si have problem with Dan. I've dealt with him before and met him in person. Very helpful guy...it's true that his items are a bit pricey but then again, you don't see Dan selling altezza lights. He sure is busy because it's hard to reach him sometimes...I think people have to realize that Dan has a life of his own.

 

...maybe Dan got tired of being bashed because some keyboard-picking pimpled-faced *****, well out of arms reach, went on a flaming(ment as in gay ) spree because his illegal test pipe didn't "fit right"... Since Dan didn't make it right within 5 minutes and after he was flamed to death on the internet, Dan must not know anything about the Type R and do bad business and and be a total suck-***... nevermind the fact that before that event, Dan was one of the most respected/knowledgable H-T members on this board who had a desent reputation for doing business... ever wonder why members in the KNOW have threatened to leave or have left... My me Lord, the crowd is fickle today...

the people that know the least, flame the most, show disdain as a sign of false bravado when presented with advanced concepts, and spend the most time on the chat boards not contributing useful info.

it's a sad fact that the trollers come in, do their damage, and leave. It's a sign of their social maturity.

I don't blame Dan for not being as active. He doesn't need the aggravation and he is very busy doing better things he enjoys. Social graces is a lost art.

Dan was one of the most knowledgeable guys here. It's our loss.

Here's my take...

I don't respect Dan because of my observations of member disappointment contributed by him. I have never met the man, and quite frankly, wouldn't want to. The fact that he ignored members and was laxidasical helping customers who were displeased and/or frustrated with his product was enough for me...

Here's something that will maybe **** some of you off, but I don't believe anyone can deny this...

Look at the reputations of both David (FAST4DR) and Mike (TypeRmsm) on this board. Have you ever seen a "anyone heard from R&D" or "my dissatisfaction with IPS" topic? I haven't...

Jason- who still thinks Dan is a non-wrenching imposter, and praises both R&D and IPS for their first class service

 

Dan is definitely one of the better people to deal with in the import market, a total stand up guy, and treats his customers with respect. Nothing serious happened on ClubSi, perhaps a small exchange of words, but who doesn't have a few of them from time to time, happens very frequently on internet forums. In fact many many ClubSi members currently deal with Dan and lots of the guys pleaded for Dan to come back to ClubSi, can't say I blame him for not wanting to do that though. He is a solid person to deal with, don't let the reputation bashing influence your decision to deal with Dan.
