Default go about boostin accel.

well my stock 98' civic automatic.. is slow on the 1st gear.. and then kicks in 2nd really quick... how can i make it any better?? and also is a speed chip for like $15 on ebay which says it'll add up to 22hp .. is that any good? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1 or

Get a shift kit. I do not mean a auto --> manual kit.

Most people are gonna say do an auto to manual swap. (^ case in point) Well it will be a good start, but I don't think that will answer your question.

What exactly do you mean "its slow in 1st gear.. and then kicks in 2nd really quick..."? Like 1st gear sucks from a stop until second gear?

Those chips are a pointless waste of money. Anything that says it will add more than 5hp for under $50 is bullshit. All those chips do is make you run super rich.

Those chips will not give you 22hp or whatever they claim, especially since you car is stock. It's bullshit.
