i did a swap.....d16y7 block with z6 head and tranny. i am not gettin fuel....i have spark,compression,and the timing is right....i disconnected the hose that goes from the fuel line from the fuel filter n tryed starting the car n no fuel was flowing...it was bone dry...the car was running yesterday and has a 1/2 tank of gas.

 

Hey Roy you can hear the fuel pump prime the engine when you first turn the key to the on position. Your check engine light should go out after the pressure builds in the system.

If you don't hear the fuel pump Hummin' when you turn the key you probably have a problem with the supply voltage to the pump or even worse a defective fuel pump. But it could be a relay or fuse. you didn't state what type car you have that would the more info you give the more people will be able to help.
