advice: thinking about getting a 98-02 accord.....
Yes I'm thinking about getting a 98-02 accord. Pref a 01 or 02. Below is a pic of what I have in mind ie:coupe, v6. Are there any things/problems I should look out for when buying one? The competition for my money is the accord or a 03 jetta turbo.
on the 4cyl idea. My friend has a 00 camry xle v6 194hp and theres no way I'm going to get a car that cant beat his. I'm tired of him always having the advantage. Rich relatives just bought him a $4000 Alienware laptop. He deserves to have his *** beat in at least one catagory. I'm kinda set on the v6, just not sure if I want a manual or auto.

Get a chassis that companies besides DC and AEM make parts for. Get a fifth gen coupe and put an h22 in it. i dont really like any accords 98+. They are better looking stock but when you try and mod them to make them track cars or anything they look out of place.

Sorry to bust your bubble but your Accord V6 probably wont be able to take the Camry. They have more torque than the Accord. Id suggest you get a Maxima. Those things can be pretty fast with minimal mods. The V6 doesnt respond well to mods.
00-02 models are slower than 98-99.

by "beat" I mean beat, win, finish first in any race. I'll try the 4cyl 5spd test drive and see how that goes then go to the v6 if needed. Once I drive the v6 I'll be able to tell you if its faster than the camry. Why is the 98-99 accord faster than the 00-02?
edit: Just went to edmunds.com and I guess the reason the 98-99 is faster is because it weighs 283lbs less. Why the hell would they add 283lbs of weight???!?!!
stats:
99accord coupe......v6...weight 3020 hp 200@5500 torq 195@4700 0-60=7.9 sec.
00camry xle sedan v6 weight 3252 hp 194@5200 torq 209@4400 0-60=8.0 sec.
damn, this is going to be close. His is stock, mine would have i/h/very quiet exh

5th gen's chassey feels stiffer than the 6th to me. money helps decide this one.. you can get a great 5th gen for a good price now days... if you are set on an accord and have the $ for it (and want a v6) why not get a 7th gen. quite fast.
i like having a bunch of parts to choose from for my 5th gen ex. i love my accord. with the suspention set up right, i have a lot of fun in it.
6th gen 4cil does have a lot of room for a turbo though (designed to have the 3.2 in there too).
hell, just get the 6th gen coupe already. i have seen some nice ones out there. and if you are a carbonfiber ***** the rear lid looks good in cf.

not sure if you knew or not, but the AV6 (6th gen) only comes in auto
like somebody else here said, put some money into a 5th and you should be set. or jus get a camry like your friend. honestly, i cant believe u wanna buy a car based on your friends car bein faster.

And VW's suck was so important how?
If you get an auto tranny it will more than likely **** on you. Stick with a manual. The auto trannies in 6th gens, most prevalent in the V6, have been known to fail, and if youre over 100k/6 years or have the wrong year, youll have to pay for it yourself.
It's easy with a turbo kit to put on the 4 cyl and have MORE power than a V6 makes.

Camry?
Get the '00-'02 Accord coupe, 4 cyl 5 speed manual transmission. The V6 is a pig, the auto 4 cyl is pretty slow as well. If you want a car that you can enjoy driving and that can actually make some decent power, out of all your options, the 4 cyl 5 speed will be your best bet.
Automatics suck.

He said he wanted a coupe. I don't think the sentra is a coupe. Also, it's not even close to the same class as the accord.
