Default affordable engine mods

so far, the only engine mod i have is an AEM cold air intake and i love the noise increase from the engine, specially in VTEC mode

In terms of other engine mods, can anyone please recommend me of certain mods that i can do that won't be too costly?

for example, i wanted to get a jackson racing supercharger but price tag over 3 000 US is too much for me at the moment.

My next goal is to get a header and after a lot of research, i have decided to go for the TODA racing header. I am currently saving up for this.

But meantime, I would appreciate it if you can advise me of any other engine mods that I can do and which won't cost too much money.

your next step should be the header. but thats not gonna help you as much as it could without a better exhaust system. I would say you should save about 1200 and get a custom SMSP exhaust.

In terms of cheap mods though. There is not point in geting too many internals without spending lots of money to fully build it eventually.

Just start with the basic intake, header and exhaust and see how you like it.

I've got the UR SS pulleys and I would say skip it. For the amount of power they might free up, the fact that my lights are now dim isn't worth it IMO. from me. I also got a short shifter from EM Racing just recently and it was definately worth the 35US plus shipping. Great shifting feel. from me. I got cam gears and a FPR from AEM basically with the plans of getting it tuned with Hondata in the Spring. As it sits they do nothing if you don't tune your car.

Other not so expensive mods could include C-Pillar bar, strut braces and don't forget http://www.turbonator.com . j/k about the ***-o-nator.

If you don't have a lot of money - just do the header, intake and exhaust.

I honestly hope you didn't buy the AEM piece because of the noise it makes...
Sell that AEM pos and get a Jays. You will see everyone and their mother on this ITR forum ranting and raving about them.

Remember: Your engine basically comes down to being a big air pump. The more air you can get in and out as efficiently as possible = more hp. Take the advice of those above. The SMSP pieces are nice, Jays Racing intakes are nice. Oh, you may want to research exhaust pulses and the pluses/drawbacks of getting a certain size diameter exhaust system. Hope this helps.

Aloha,
Brandon

Sell that AEM CAI. Put your stock intake back in. With that money you're saving up for headers- I'd rather get some coilovers.

In terms of affordable engine parts...what are your goals for the motor?
