Default Reduced entry fee for MWHC at Mid-Ohio in April!

Just finalized this with the region director, and it is a great deal for all of you Honda Challenge racers out there! You can do the double sprint races on Saturday and Sunday (160 minutes of track time) for $200 total, or add the Friday test day (another 80 minutes of track time) for another $100 ($300 total), or for any of you looking for an enormous amount of track time, do the Friday test day, the double sprint races on Saturday and Sunday, and then do the 1 hour enduro at the end of the day Sunday, all for only $400 total(340 minutes of total track time)! HC will be doing standing starts all weekend long (split start w/ small bore). This run group includes all of HC (HU-H5).

Early registration ends March 22, so anyone who enters after March 22 will be subject to a $50 late entry fee. There are also a few garages still available for rent for the entire event for $195, so find someone to split one with you and share the rental.

There is a HC "only" registration line for this event at http://www.nasaproracing.com, so get registerred and come have fun at Mid-Ohio!

Regards,

Sam

Arrrrgh.... I really wanna do MO but Road America is the weekend after. I try to stick with the Midwest region schedule so I guess I would skip MO in April.

Hey kids - I'll be there in my Meotter and doing pictures again for the OH/IN website. I always try to get lots of pictures of Honda Challenge.

Markus,

Be sure and stop by garage #14, that is where I'll be and where HC headquarters will be for the weekend. Thanks in advance for all the great pics, you do a great job, and have fun in the meotter.

Sam

We need lots of H4 cars to show up for me to beat.

I'm really excited to get my off-season changes/tweeks onto the track.

It'll be great for you to come out and race with us Kevin. I know that Colin Botha will be there in his new H4 CRX, as well as Gene Hancock, the Team Hankook Integras (Andrew Zimmerman, Leo, and possibly Ian Carpenter and Jon Kofod). In H1 I hope to see the Pete Curpier and possibly Matt Bookler, as well as Adam Curpier in H2 and Adam Spingler (?sp) in H3. Has the making of a good first round for the MWHC, if we can just get a few H5 guys to show up (besides me). Looking forward to seeing everyone at the track

Sam

Todd,

Great to hear that you will be making the trip to race with us. Also, the current entry list is now available at: http://www.racenasa.com/infopa...5.htm. I see that Brian Shanfeld (Acura TL team) will be there with his H3 Prelude, and there is another H4 entrant that I wasn't aware of, so more competition for all you H4 racers out there. Anyone else thinking of making the trip to race with us?

Regards,

Sam

Sam - I see one more H5 car on that list other than you. Now if my Dad shows up in his CX, that's three. Also, are you sure that's Colin's new car? His old car was #9 too so I wonder if he's keeping the same number or if it's his old car.

Does anyone know if Brian (and the rest of the Honda guys) have that H3 Prelude prepaired for ITS now. I think it was their old SSB car and I heard a rumor that they were building it for ITS/H3.

Kevin,

Yeah, I did see that Kim is coming to race in H5, so hopefully your dad can make it out as well, and if we can get one more, that would be the best for the Kumho contingency. Also, I'm pretty sure that Colin will have the new car, just using the same number. Brian and the R&D guys are not sure which vehicle they will be bringing, it could be the new TL (if they were able to keep it), the Prelude, which is actually in H2 (per the year listed=1999), or the SSC Civic, which is in H3. I've emailed LM on this and he is going to contact Brian to see what Jeremy and his plans are. Also, Ian may be out in either his CRX (if the cage gets done) or in the H4 LS Integra (Brian's car that they ran in H2 last year with an ITR motor) that they are working on getting the engine done for. Hopefully everyone will come thru and be able to race with us.

Regards,

Sam

Any chance of you coming out and racing wheel to wheel with us in HC this year? Just curious, as I remember you doing TTC in your car last year and, IIRC, you were the TTC Champ. I'm sure your car would be very competitive in H2.

Sam

So give him a call and "urge" him to make it out to race with us in some car, whichever one gets done. The more we H4 racers we get, the more asses you can kick!

Regards,

Sam

P.S. Don't forget to get registered before March 22nd, which is when the early registration ends and the $50 late penalty goes into effect.

Thanks for the compliments on the pix Sam. I'll try to come by and say hello. Is the Road Kill Cafe going to be back this year?!?

I think Walt is slowly making the drift toward HC with his Prelude. He's a darn fast and good driver so he'll be trouble once he gets there.

Also - great to see some new people coming out, can't wait to meet everyone!

I'll give him a call later today and harass him.

Will do - I was thinking about getting my *** on that last night. Now being that you're the MWHC Director and all, start doing your "good weather dance". I don't have snow tires for my racecar.

If anyone cares, I'll have the bright orange H4 Integra and my Dad will have a matching bright orange H5 Civic - feel free to come by and say hi.

Trevor,

Great news that you will be joining us for the season openner, have you done any HC races in the past? I don't recall having met you, but I could have been mistaken. Looking forward to meeting you at the track and racing with you.

I don't have snow tires either, so I'll get started on the "good weather dance", and hopefully the racing gods will smile on us for this event.

RoadHunter's Cafe will be at all of the Mid Ohio's major spectator events, which unfortunately this event is not one of. We will be at the ALMS/World Challenge event on May 20-22, and continue all summer thru the Runoffs at the end of September. If you are up for any of these events, please stop by and say hello.

This is my first season. I just got my license at VIR on Feb 18th, I did the sprint race on the 19th.
I did this with NASA Mid-Atlantic. I hope it is ok to come out to Mid-Ohio with a MA provisional license.
thanks

Trev,

It is definitely ok that you come and race with us, and congratulations on getting your comp. license. There will be a ton of competition in H4 at Mid Ohio, which should make for some great experience for you. Best of luck to you, and be sure to stop by garage #14 and say hello at some point during the weekend.
