Default turbo ITR's using uberdata?

I have been running my turbo for about two weeks using the afc hack. I know it is not the best method but I have had one installed in the car for years and it does allow a turbo to be run-so I used what I had to get it going. It runs ok but I am having cold start problems because of the larger injectors it is throwing a misfire code when cold and I had to retard the timing slightly to remove the tip-in pre-ignition at part throttle in vacuum. In boost it runs great and timing is not a major issue because the ecu is pulling as much as 20 degrees out. However, the car is not tuned optimally and I am not going to keep this set-up.

I would like a full stand alone and uberdata seems to be popular. I would like to run it but am uncertain about some of the losses associated with it. Any of you obd2 guys using it? how does it affect your cars speed sensors and other stuff. I know the p28 ecu does not have provisions for a knock sensor. Does uberdata have any diagnostic capability? can you clear codes with it?

I have a laptop with an obd2 datalogging and troubleshooting program that works quite well and if I go obd1 this program is useless except for my other vehicles. I am even considering greddy emanage because it ties in with my existing ecu and I can still datalog with my program and stay emissions legal. Are any of you using it? will it help with my cold-start problem? any insight would be appreciated.

My personal preference would be an AEM system but due to lack of funds I will have to wait to get it-maybe if I am a good boy this year, Santa will bring me one for Christmas.

Thanks in advance for your response, I would like to get some other opinions before I decide the best way to go.
