Yeah, we know Peter Cunningham! The guy is a legend, and probably the most successful Honda racecar driver in history other than Ayrton Senna.

From that other press release, Cunningham will be running an Acura again, this year. I don't think they quite had the ginourmous success with the Nissan that they were hoping for.

Oh yeah, forgot about him. How many years did he race a Honda though? I'm thinking Cunningham probably has more race wins in a Honda, though not at quite the same level. LOL!

He had been with honda engines in F3000 and F1 in Europe before coming to the US to race CART. And Parker Johnstone as well, another very successful honda driver
Parker Johnstone was good, but PD has over 20 pro wins in Hondas! Hell, PD's NSX is on display at the Honda museum in Japan. The guy is a god.

Probably the most successfully raced NSX ever. I know that one of them won Le Mans, and that NSXs have won the JGTC, but for some reason they wanted PD's in the museum. Maybe most successful outside of Japan?

Mazda 787B is the only japanese-built car to ever win Lemans.

Perhaps we have forgotten Honda drivers like Gil de Ferran (2 time CART champion). Maybe Tony Kanaan has done the odd thing with Honda. Jimmy Vasser won the odd thing too driving for Honda. Dario Franchitti did OK as well. Damn if Juan Pablo Montoya didn't drive the Honda motor to victory more than once when Chip Ganassi signed him to replace Zanardi. Paul Tracy comes to mind for Honda. Micheal Andretti drove a Honda in 2002. Helio Castroneves might have won his share for Honda for Penske alongside Gil. Bobby Rahal ran in 94 in a Honda. Even Adrian Fernandez was a Honda guy. And I can't remember all those first 7 guys in a Honda that crossed the Indianapolis finish line. Peter Cunningham, well he's good too, just a ton less factory support dollars. And notice how so many of these guys drove Honda's with boost, including Ayrton Senna. Gotta love boost.
And now all we have to do is wit to see if Button and Sato can bring home the gold, as well as PD and his boys.

True, and that was a nice car. But Honda won the GT2 class with the NSX at LeMans in 1995 with 3 Japanese drivers, the same year the McLaren F1 won overall for the first time. Somewhat fitting as Gordon Murray used the NSX as his daily driver for 2 years as a benchmark for the design of the F1. Honda also came in 2nd or 3 rd place for a few years there after in the NSX. Perhaps one of those beauties made it to the museum.

But have any of them won 20 races for Honda?!? PD's 20 are all in World Challenge, I'm not even sure if that counts the Firestone series that preceeded it. It definately doesn't count his ice racing kind of stuff...
Thanks for answering the NSX question by the way. It was a class win, not overall.

LMAO! I stand corrected (by the man himself actually)...
PD has 8 championships, and 60 pro race wins, in Hondas. That's out of 11 championships and 76 wins total.
Not to mention this interesting stat: 76 professional road racing victories in eight series at 27 Tracks – 23.4% Win Ratio!
Not even Senna won 60 pro races in a Honda!
I have his whole bio if you guys want to see more....
