Default Maintenance Light Just Came On?

I have a 1996 Integra RS Automatic first off..here is the story..

Well, it just came on & im not really to sure why. I just had my oil changed two weeks ago as well. I just jumped in my car & started driving home (without warming it up, i usually warm the car up every time i start it) & there was no light at all... & about 45 minutes later after i got done eating lunch, I turned the car back on to go to work & the light came on & just stayed on. The car runs great though...no fluids are leaking or anything like as i garage it every night. I have an automatic tranny & it shifts great & fluid was changed in it less than 5,000 miles ago & all work is done by Acura. Radiator fluid is just fine, just checked it last week & its full as well.

Now I read that the prelude has a 7500 oil change REMINDER & the light comes on & you just have to reset it ... do you figure this is the case? Where is this reset button located? Thanks very much to your comments, I appreciate it & bump this to get rid of a maintence light!

is it the check engine ligt or the maintence required light???

Either way first thing to do is SEARCH...... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=979961

If it is the MRL there is a small button below the steering wheel, about where your knees are. Just feel around right at the end of the plastic panel. You will find it.

Did search & read all topics, sry i didnt say that in the first post & it is the MAINTENANCE light, NOT check engine Bump for more opinions...

How can you tell between a regular maintenance required light & a "recommended" maintenance required light?

The light comes on at a given interval. It is supposed to be for oil changes and other sutff. I just ignor mine now. O ya, you would be surprised how many times i have seen people ask about the CEL when it was the MRL.

p.s. Your search for MAINTENANCE light returned 262 results.

the maintenance required light is just a reminder for different services, you can turn it off by reaching under the dash to the right of the center of the steering wheel, feel around until u find a small plastic button and youll have to push upwards, hold the button in for a few seconds and the maintenance required light will turn off
