Q:flexible aluminium pipe for air filter
hello everybody...
what do you guys think about routing the air filter from the turbo with flexible aluminium pipe ?

i tried to burn it like 10sec's on the stove in my house to see how it reacts to heat and nothing happened to it.

i know there is some high grade flexible aluminum that is used for turbos inlets, you see it alot on rx7s with big turbo inlets, but i am not sure if that is it?
it is a little hard to secure and if its the flimsy **** may end up coming loose and falling into something vital.
give it a shot, let us know

i was actually planning on using the same thing temporarily when i install my turbo setup. Im talking about the dryer stuff, its aluminuim but it could easily hold the vacuum of a turbo inlet

the pipe is just like the ones for use on dryers but smaller ... there are even a couple of different type pipes, but yours looks like the good one - there are some that unfold themselves easily and you don't want some of those; so you can use silicon (a lot) to provide vacuum ability, as well as put some metal rings outside to make it strong. ... but I think it would work .. at least, that's what I was planning to use until I get my intercooler pipping ... was even thinking of pvc pipes

im using the "flex-o-pipe" **** from autozone or advance auto. its like 16inches long that you get...i had to go to a muffler shop to get a section of 3" though because the parts stores dont carry that size and i have an sc61. this stuff is made for exhaust repair.

How sturdy is it? Cause I would mainly be worried that under full spool the turbo would suck on it hard enough to crunch it in like a pop can. Which would be really bad as it might then eat it

the **** im talking about is strong. you can squeeze it, push down on it, whatever. its as strong as the regular piping. go clamps on it and everything.
