EG or EH
I know I won't hit every point on this, so I'll just get the ball rolling.
From what I understand: The EH chassis is the USDM civic, and the EG chassis is the JDM/EDM chassis.
Main structural differences: I've read that the USDM chassis is the weakest of all the chassis. I found some OEM braces that you can buy that don't come on US Civics. Search Acura and the Del Sol Si VTEC for chassis bars. Only the EG chassis can be RHD or LHD.
Main exterior differences: City light headlights, clear corner lights, side marker lights, tail lights without the reflectors, rear spoiler with long LED (JDM), rear spoiler without LED (EDM), EDM chassis's have wide license plate slots in the rear hatch.
Main interior differences: Different choice of colors, different rear paneling, MPH gauge cluster (USDM/UKDM), KmPH gauge cluster (JDM/EDM), non-SRS and SRS 3-spoke steering wheel, some models have rear seats with head rests.
Models
USDM EDM JDM
NA EG6 (VTi) EG6 (SiR)
EH2 (VX/DX) EG3 (VEi/LSi) EG3 (??)
NA EG9 (VTi 4dr) EG9 (SiR 4dr)
?? (del sol) EG2 (CR-X) EG2 (CR-X)
EH3 (Si) EG5 (ESi) ???
Obviously, I have left out optional equipment because it differs by country. It's also obvious that I only know about hatchbacks, so if anyone else knows more, please correct me were need be, and fill in the gaps. This is a good topic as I too am converting my EH3 to an EG5. The more info we get from members overseas, the more accurate our convertions can be.
Thanks.
